jOHN rIDENBAUGHoWNER/oPERATORJohn, owner & operator of Artistic Memorials & Monuments was born in 1964 in Newark Ohio. John, graduated from Licking County Joint Vocational School (now C-Tec), but his diploma is from Newark High School. After graduating high school, John joined the Navy and stationed all over the US, but his final station was in Florida, which is where he first learned the monument trade. An Italian guy met John at a local establishment and asked John if he knew how to sandblast, of course, John said with pride “Yeah, I know how to sandblast.”
John left the Navy and moved back home to Newark, where he was able to learn more about the monument business from his brother Tom, and Larry Hahn. Finally in 2003, John had enough skill to open his own monument business “Artistic Memorials & Monuments”. Since 2003, John has been busy being the local hotspot for monuments in licking county, taking headstones around Ohio an as far as Virginia and Arkansas. Artistic Memorials & Monuments is different from the rest because John works on all his monuments from start to finish. On any given day, you will see John working on hand etchings that will soon turn into stencils for the sandblasting process. John will never ship designs off, John completes all designs, in house at his local shop on 200 O’Bannon with heart. |
